As the Threats Against EJ Pile Up, He Plans to Put an End to Kristen’s Reunion with ‘Mommy Blake’

On today’s Days of Our Lives, chaos reigns in Ava’s room as she, Brady, Kristen and Rachel yell about what happened. Ava tries calling the police, so Kristen drags her mom away, telling Brady he better handle this. He stops Ava from running after them, much to her fury, then reiterates that doing anything against Rachel Blake could cost him Rachel Black forever.
As he bandages her sliced hand, Ava explains why this crime has nothing to do with his daughter, so she can go to the cops. Brady’s too afraid of what Kristen’s mom will say in custody. It’s all tied together. He can’t risk CPS, no matter what Ava says. “So you’re asking me to let Kristen’s mother walk for a second time…”
Ava’s fed up — her life is in danger, and no one seems able to keep Rachel under control. Brady begs her, and Ava tells him she needs someone who’s looking out for her. That’s not Brady, so she’ll do whatever she has to to protect herself. He apologizes saying Rachel isn’t the only one he cares about, and he will make sure the elder Rachel won’t hurt Ava again.
But Ava can’t do it anymore. “I need some time to think.” She tells Brady to go, and he asks if he can call her later. She’ll be here, Ava shrugs, trying to figure out how to protect herself. Brady apologizes again, says he doesn’t want to lose her and leaves. Ava locks the door behind him.
Gabi Tattles On Belle
Paulina meets with Belle in the Horton Square, firing off a litany of problems while Belle’s distracted on her phone. The mayor makes a snide remark about her DA being bored, and Belle apologizes, saying she’s just checking a group text for updates on her dad. That gets Paulina feeling bad and saying they can circle back later.
But then Gabi strides over, demanding to know when Belle’s doing her job and locking EJ up. Paulina and Belle try calming her down, but Gabi tosses the DA under the bus and tells Paulina that Belle’s “sleeping with our number one suspect.” Belle can’t seem to find the words as Gabi lays out her twisted, restarted romance to a shocked Paulina.
Belle reluctantly admits that they were “involved briefly,” and Gabi insists that she can’t be trusted to get justice against EJ. Nothing Belle says can calm Gabi down, until Paulina jumps in wondering if it’s time for Belle to recuse herself from the case. Belle argues her case, finally convincing Paulina that she can oversee the case without bias.
EJ’s a ruthless, skilled attorney, and Belle’s the only one with the knowledge and experience to oversee this. Gabi keeps chiming in with snide remarks until Paulina tells her to shut it, and agrees to let Belle run the case. Gabi then accuses Paulina of helping EJ too, because of Chanel and Johnny. She storms off, vowing to take matters into her own hands. Belle apologizes, and Paulina heads out, telling her DA she’s on thin ice.
Shawn Confesses to JJ
JJ meets with Shawn in the interrogation room to go over the Feniger case and put EJ away. He tells Shawn what Gabi did, and Shawn marvels at how sick EJ’s plot was. After bringing up Jada, JJ notes that Shawn almost sounds as passionate as Gabi — especially in his defense of their former boss.
Fine, maybe he’s overprotective, but that’s just because he hates what EJ did to her. He just gave her a shoulder to cry on. JJ can tell there’s more to it, but backs off. After an awkward moment, Shawn admits he and Jada slept together. They never had a chance to really talk about it, because right after, they learned about Arnold. JJ promises no one will hear about it from him. Shawn looks thoughtful then runs out.
Rafe Threatens EJ
EJ butts heads with Jada and Rafe over whether or not Arnold was/is back. Rafe says he should’ve put this “son of a bitch” out of his misery a long time ago and EJ tosses them out, denying Arnold was ever there. Jada drags her beau out as he declares it isn’t over.
They head home, with Jada reassuring Rafe that his memories could come back, then goes farther and reassures him that she and Arnold never slept together. They hardly even spent much time alone together. Good, because “the thought of another man’s hands on you is tearing me up inside.” Jada thinks back to Shawn and the couch.
She has to tell him something. They never slept together, but they did kiss a few times. Oh, that’s nothing, Rafe’s so happy it’s all out in the open. He kisses her and heads upstairs, leaving Jada… uncomfortable.
EJ and Rachel Butt Heads
Kristen brings her mom home and fills EJ in on the Ava drama. He’s mildly disappointed that Rachel didn’t succeed in the murder, then suggests Bayview’s got plenty of room for Kristen’s mom. The two worry that this could send them to prison if Brady can’t convince Ava to keep quiet this time. Rachel asks Kristen to get some food and EJ keeps an eye on “Mommy Blake.”
He sits to chat with Rachel, suggesting she leave Ava alone — but he gets it. Rachel’s not too worried. If Kristen can’t protect her enough, she’s sure EJ will use his “resources” to keep her out of prison. Unless he wants to join her there… She does know about the man he kept in her attic after all. EJ threatens her, then Rachel leaves for breakfast with Kristen.
EJ Plans to Take Drastic Measures
In the show’s final moments, Gabi rushes over to JJ at the police station, telling him Belle and Paulina aren’t trustworthy and he’s her only hope. Shawn visits the Hernandez house to ask Jada if they could talk, thinking Rafe was still in the hospital. Nope, Rafe pops up, he’s back! Shawn stammers that he wanted to let Jada know he and JJ are on the case. EJ won’t get away with this.
In the square, Belle thinks back to her time with EJ, then vows he won’t pull the wool over her eyes a third time. If she finds out he had anything to do with Rafe, “I will personally nail your ass to the wall.”
Alone, EJ accuses his dad’s photo of this all being Stefano’s fault for blowing Rachel’s car up all those years ago and knocking a few marbles loose. He then opens the safe and breaks out a syringe, promising Kristen’s reunion with her mom is about to come to an end.
