Bold & Beautiful Shake-Up: As Two Couples Go Down for the Count, Two New Matches Are Made… Well, Newish

The March 3 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful didn’t go so far as to break up Hope and Carter, and Steffy and Finn. But it certainly shined a spotlight on the writing on the wall — writing that read, “Brace yourselves, big changes are coming!”

On one end of the canvas, we had Hope getting an eyeful of Carter kissing Daphne and listening a little too intently as she played on his guilty post-coup conscience. On the other, we had Taylor flat-out insisting that Steffy dump Finn even though so far as any of them know, his murderous newfound daughter is still behind bars. Since Bold & Beautiful is infamous for hitting us over the head with plot twists well before they happen — remember last year when the show came out and said Finn was Luna’s real father? — it’s not hard to predict what’s coming next.

Especially when Luna uses a dissociative-identity disorder defense to get out of prison, Steffy will reluctantly leave Finn. One killer in the family, she could put up with. But two? That’s pushing it. Then Bold & Beautiful will hurtle us toward the reunion of Steffy and Liam at which it’s been hinting… just in time to plop the former marrieds in a love triangle with Ivy. (Will someone, anyone please tell Liam she’s back in town?)

As for Hope and Carter, well, their split will be a lot less shocking. They got together basically overnight, were in love the day after that, and he started wondering about the wisdom of letting her play his Lady MacBeth a day after that. (OK, it was more than a day but not much!) The show will move him into a new Forrester-approved relationship with Daphne, and as for Hope…
