At University Hospital, Chanel is set to undergo a medical procedure to address scar tissue and a possible tumor. Although Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) has tried to downplay the seriousness of the situation, Chanel is still concerned and appreciative of her mother’s support. However, the primary takeaway from Chanel’s medical complications is the delay in her ability to conceive. As a result, she’s been exploring other ways to start a family and has become fixated on adopting Sophia and Tate Black’s (Leo Howard) baby.
Chanel is determined to make this adoption happen, but Paulina is hesitant. Since Tate and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) are cousins, Paulina worries that adopting within the family could lead to unnecessary complications. Having personally experienced a difficult situation with Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) being raised by Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo), Paulina fears history could repeat itself.
