Tragic news has shaken the Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives communities as actor Francisco San Martin has passed away at just 38 years old. Known for his memorable roles, Francisco first entered the daytime television scene in 2011, portraying Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives. Dario, a petty thief investigating a cold case murder, evolved into a fan-favorite character, forming a memorable connection with Melanie, played by Molly Burnett. However, his time on the show was cut short when Dario’s storyline ended, and the character moved to Argentina.
In 2016, Dario briefly returned to Salem, but the role was recast with Jordi Vilasuso. Undeterred, Francisco made his mark on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2017, taking on the role of Mateo, a charming handyman embroiled in one of Sheila Carter’s infamous schemes. Sheila manipulated Mateo in an attempt to seduce Quinn and sabotage her marriage to Eric. Despite Mateo’s good looks and Sheila’s plotting, Quinn’s loyalty to Eric proved unshakable, leaving Sheila’s plan in ruins.
Beyond soap operas, Francisco appeared in the primetime series Jane the Virgin, portraying Fabian, Jane’s love interest and a rival to her father.
